It's been a pretty solid week for Youssef Hmama so far here at Deerfoot Inn & Casino. He kicked off his series with a final table performance in the opening Big 30 Stack, finishing 7th for $3,200 and change. Tonight, his well-dressed ace-queen flopped another lady to take down his first ring in a race against heads-up opponent Shariq Khan.
Along the way to the ring, Hmama was one of two players -- the other being his heads-up opponent -- to pull one of the big $7k bounties. He bagged a couple more smaller ones as well to bring his total to around $30k when it's all pooled.
While other games in this series have been marathons, this one was absolutely a sprint. It took less than two levels to play through the entire final table, which included a double knock-out. No doubt the fact that both big bounties were still in play at the final table drove the action pretty hard as the early pay jumps were significantly less than the bounties remaining in the bin.
Hmama may be coming to enjoy his time here at Deerfoot. He has only two previous cashes on his Hendon before this series with the most recent being another final table finish here in Calgary back in the very chilly January series when he picked up 9th in the closing Big 30 Stack game. He'll now have two more WSOP-C cashes from Deerfoot, plus a ring on his Hendon Mob page -- and there's still more than a week to go before this series wraps up. It seems like a decent bet that we'll get more FT pictures of Hmama going forward.
It was a whirlwind end to the Mystery Bounty tonight as they took less than two levels to play from 10 down to a winner. Shortly after Jeff Scruton hit the rail in 3rd, the heads-up players found a race spot and the money went in. Youssef Hmama was on overs with ace-queen against the treys for Shariq Khan. Hmama flopped his queen and the board bricked for the underpaid to send Khan to the rail in 2nd place. He did pull one of the two big bounties worth more than $7k, however, so his day's total was higher than the advertised payout.
They are now heads up after Jeff Scruton, who also goes by Bob Dole, ended his run in 3rd tonight.
There are just three players left now after Brad Evans bowed out in 4th place just now. Youssef Hmama, Jeff "Bob Dole" Scruton and Shariq Khan are battling it out still for the ring.
They are down to 4 left now after Ty Adams hit the rail in 5th place. I haven't seen any of the action as I've been getting pictures sorted.
It's been a bust Level 23 as the field is down to 5 now. Todd Oakley was the first to go in 10th, followed by Rafa Verdugo in 9th and Nicholas Lee in 8th. Jimmie Sugai and Steve Nielsen then both went out on the same hand with Shariq Khan the big winner in a couple of spots. He pulled one of the biggest bounties and is sitting on a huge stack now as well.
The Mystery Bounty game is playing pretty fast at the moment with 12 players left. Both of the big bounties of $7,080 are still in play as are the second and third bounties.
Prizes to 26th place are updated in the Payouts tab with the field down to 25 as Level 19 is about to begin.
They are down to 34 players left in the Mystery now with action in the money. I'm still working on the Event #3 end-of-day stuff but I'm in Chrome watching the numbers and payout action at least. Payouts to 35th place are listed under the Payouts tab.
The Mystery Bounty numbers are in and they ended with 261 entries for $134,415 in total prizes. That breaks down to $52,200 in the bounty pool with $82,215 for prizes. The winner is set to pocket $18,207 and 40 players will get a piece of the prize pool.

Level 9 has just kicked off over in the Chrome room for the Mystery Bounty, and the field is up to 233 entries. That also means they have about 50 minutes left in the entry period.
The Mystery Bounty is up to 212 entries for total prizes of almost $110k. There is $42,400 in the bounty pool and $66,780 reserved for prizes later with about 90 minutes left in late entry.
Level 4 is just underway with the Mystery field up to 167 entries for prizes of $89,005. I made a calculation error when posting the final entry time for this one -- it looks like entries will close by 7:50 pm, not 8:50 as originally posted. That still gives them almost three hours of entry left.
Among the players I spotted in the field while I was over in Chrome were David Ko, who bagged the second-best stack from last night's second 4-Flight stage, as well as world traveler come home, Tyler Warken, here for his first local event in a couple of years. Rafa Vergugo was also spotted in the mix, and I spotted Ty Adams and Haven Taylor getting set to buy in the last time I was outside.

There's some mystery in the air on Saturday with the side game. The Mystery Bounty players will sit down with 25k in chips for 20-minute levels throughout the day. Players can buy in for the first ten levels of poker which should put the final chance to enter at about 8:50 pm.
The Mystery bounties kick in when they get into the money and bounty distributions can be found at the bottom of the structure posted below. This is a one-day event so the ring will be awarded before they finish for the day.
I won't be watching much of this one until late in the game likely as I'll have my eyes on Day 1d of the 4-Flight, but I'll be over for the endgame.
